Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Override Guide: Battle Pass, Skins and End Date

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Override explained: every Battle Pass skin and level, Sonic, Overrides and Loot Hacks, and the November 1 end date.

Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is called Override, and it’s built around gaming history. Sonic the Hedgehog is in the Battle Pass, the island has new systems that change the rules mid-match, and the season wraps up on November 1, 2026. Here’s what’s in the season, what the Battle Pass costs and how to get through it before it ends.

Season at a glance

  • Name: Override
  • Started: August 20, 2026
  • Battle Pass ends: November 1, 2026 (Eastern Time)
  • Battle Pass price: 800 V-Bucks, or included with Fortnite Crew
  • V-Bucks back: up to 800, enough for the next pass

What’s new: Overrides, Cheat Codes and Loot Hacks

The headline mechanic is Overrides. They show up during a match, and the first player to reach one picks one of three modifiers. That choice changes the rules for the whole lobby. It makes every game a bit different and rewards players who rotate toward them early instead of hiding.

Cheat Codes are hidden across the island. Punching one in frees Sprite allies. Sprite Dust can then be spent on Loot Hacks, which change what drops from chests. If you like planning your loadout, Loot Hacks are worth learning, because they cut down on the luck in early fights.

Epic also lists Lobby Hacks as part of the season’s set of hacks. Expect them to keep changing as the season goes on, so check the in-game news tab for anything new.

Override Battle Pass: every outfit and when it opens

The pass has eight outfits spread across 16 pages, two pages per character. You get access to a pair of pages once you reach the listed level.

Outfit Opens at
Sonic the Hedgehog On purchase (rest of his pages at level 2)
Wrixel Level 10
Phantom Level 10
Mali Level 35
Bastian Level 35
K1ttyW1ns Level 60
Grace Crowne Level 60
Geno Level 85

Sonic comes with the Tails Sidekick on his pages, and his set includes the Sonic Ring pickaxe and Backup Ring Portal back bling. Wrixel is a build-your-own outfit with a huge number of combinations, so it’s the one to check out if you like customizing.

Once you’ve claimed every item in the main pass, bonus pages open with extra rewards for returning characters. Special styles in the pass need you to finish quests that appear after you claim other rewards.

Exclusive extras

Players who bought the pass in launch week (August 20 to 27) got the Infiltrator style for Grace Crowne. That window is closed. One you can still get: gifting the Battle Pass to a friend at any point this season gets you the Peril Peak Mali style.

Is the Battle Pass worth it?

At 800 V-Bucks with up to 800 back, the pass pays for itself if you finish it. You earn XP in any Fortnite experience, not just Battle Royale, so LEGO, creative maps and other modes all count. If you also want the OG Pass, Music Pass and LEGO Pass, Fortnite Crew includes all of them along with the Battle Pass and monthly V-Bucks.

Items from this pass can come to the Item Shop again, but not for at least 18 months after the pass ends. If you want Sonic or Geno, this season is the time.

How to level up fast before November 1

  • Do your quests daily. Weekly and daily quests are the steadiest XP in the game.
  • Play modes you like. XP counts across every Fortnite experience, so you don’t have to force Battle Royale.
  • Chase Overrides. Reaching them pushes you into action, and more action means more XP from eliminations and survival.
  • Play with friends. Squads finish quests faster and survive longer.
  • Use XP-friendly creative maps that Epic allows, especially in the final weeks.

Geno at level 85 is the last outfit, and that takes steady play. If you’re far off with a couple of weeks left, Battle Pass levels can also be bought with V-Bucks.

Rare skins worth knowing about

Every season adds to the list of skins you can’t get anymore. Battle Pass outfits are only obtainable during their season, and launch week bonus styles like Infiltrator Grace Crowne are gone for good once the window closes. That’s a big part of why older accounts with early Battle Pass skins and OG items are so popular with collectors.

Tips for Overrides matches

Because one player’s Override choice changes the whole lobby, it pays to know the options before you reach one. Read all three before picking, and think about what helps your playstyle more than what sounds fun. If you’re a close-range player, pick something that pushes fights together. If you play slow, pick something that rewards patience. And if another squad is heading for an Override, either beat them there or rotate away, since they get the pick.

Spend Sprite Dust early in the match. Loot Hacks are most useful in the first few chests, when a good weapon decides if you survive the first fight. Holding Dust until late game usually means you die with it.
